Thanks to everyone who came to Loop Head yesterday despite the poor visibility at the start and took the time to ask us many questions about the diverse wildlife of west Clare. As luck would have it, nobody left without seeing their first dolphin!

In this episode of Who We Are, we'd like to introduce John Brittain, who has been a supporter of the IWDG since our beginnings in the early 1990s. He runs a sea angling business and accommodation with his wife in Clifden, Connemara. John is also Station Manager of Clifden RNLI and was recently featured in the @FairSeas Marine Protected Area (MPA) campaign. John fishes the waters from Slyne Head to Clare Island and offshore. He sees lots of dolphins and some whales. He reports these sightings to the IWDG. He has seen many changes in the last 30 years but is still passionate about fishing, the marine environment and our responsibility to protect it. Let's meet John Brittain! Thank you all for reporting sightings and strandings to us this week. IWDG's Whale watching events were held over the weekend, and it's wonderful to see that some of you managed to capture images of these fast-swimming marine mammals when it's not always easy to predict where they will appear next!Discover more about where and how to do a watch on the IWDG website at iwdg.ie/where-and-how-to-do-a-watch/. In addition to the Free Reporting App, you can also use our online reporting form to submit your reports. #iwdgstrandings#iwdgsightings#irishwhaleanddolphingroup#shannondolphinproject#whaletrackireland#AdoptaDolphin#adoptawhale ...
