Cartoonist John Joyce in connection with the Irish Ocean Literacy Network works with the IWDG to promote ocean literacy in Ireland.

The IWDG is currently developing Junior Flukes the Irish Blubber Book, this educational book promotes ocean literacy in Ireland with a focus on cetaceans in Irish waters.

Open All Year!

Do you love drawing whales, dolphins, or other amazing marine animals? Then we’d love to see your artwork!

Our Flukey art competition is open to young marine enthusiasts aged 13 and under. To enter, simply send a good-quality photo of your drawing or painting to media@iwdg.ie with “Flukey Art” in the subject line.

We’re always thrilled to receive artwork from our supporters and regularly feature entries on the IWDG website and social media. There’s no deadline — the competition is ongoing — and we regularly select entries to receive some fun IWDG goodies!

So grab your pencils, paints, or crayons and share your love for Ireland’s whales and dolphins through art. We can’t wait to see what you create!
