Dedicated
IWDG are looking for volunteers to commit to monthly land-based effort (timed) watches under our Constant Effort Sighting Scheme. These regular watches (at least 1 each month) are conducted in all seasons and ideally in goodweather conditions and provides very important year-round data
on whales, dolphins & porpoises. We are particularly interested in improving coverage in remote areas which historically suffer from low levels of cetacean recording.
We’d like to hear
from you if you:
- Are interested in local marine wildlife and would like to contribute to IWDG’s recording schemes
- Have good optics such as binoculars, and/or a wildlife spotting scope for offshore scanning
- Are flexible and can volunteer at least 1 monthly watch in all seasons (in suitable weather)
- Have your own transport and access to a local watch site.
