Siún Ní Cheallaigh
Conservation Officer
Siún is the Conservation Officer with IWDG. Siún has been volunteering with IWDG since 2021, performing headland watches up and down the west coast, securing funding for IWDG projects including community-based surveys and events in County Mayo, cetacean surveys on the shelf edge offshore of County Mayo and inshore cetacean surveys off the coast of Wexford. She coordinates the Irish Risso’s dolphin project and manages a national photo-identification catalogue for Risso’s dolphins in Ireland. Siún currently works as a Consultant Ecologist, with experience working on baseline marine mammal data collection and impact assessment for offshore renewable energy projects.
