The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG) are to accept the kind offer of the yacht Celtic Mist from the Haughey family. The 17 metre steel-hulled yacht has been offered as a gift to the IWDG to support its work on the study and conservation of whales, dolphins and porpoise in Irish waters. IWDG Co-ordinator

Monday 23 May 2011 Colleagues in the UK have informed the IWDG that no whales were seen today although the weather is awful in the outer hebridies. Two whales stranded, one was recovered for post-mortem and one was too remote to recover. Obviously following the similar event last December we need to be vigilant along
