Following a thorough trawl through the bottlenose dolphin images that have been sent to the IWDG over the years, we have successfully matched animals from the north, south, east and west coasts.
Report IV. 09/09/08 Fin whales were observed offshore in the southwest region during a research cruise aboard the R.V. Celtic Voyager. A Greenpeace investigation has revealed that around 85 tonnes of whale meat, sent to Japan in late May 2008 from Iceland and Norway, may have to be discarded as the Japanese government has not yet received an application for import.
A Sowerby’s beaked whale and a Risso’s dolphin calf have washed up in the Scilly Isles. Initial signs indicate that the Risso’s calf may have been victim of a bottlenose dolphin attack.
