Karen Van Dorp
Karen has been part of the Dutch National Whale Team for more than a decade and has vast experience in every aspect of (large) whale strandings, in situ autopsies and whale preparation techniques. She moved over to Ireland in 2019 and worked as a volunteer for the IWDG Shannon Dolphin Project until she was appointed as Welfare Officer for the group in 2020. She is currently working towards a national Large Whale Strandings Response Protocol for Ireland on behalf of the IWDG. Karen holds a Msc degree in Zoology and is accredited as a JNCC Marine Mammal Observer.
