IWDG Launches New Website

Our new website is designed to be more interactive. We now have a fully searchable sightings and strandings database which allows you to search for sightings or strandings by county or species or both!

The strandings database is up to date but please bear with us for a while and we will have the sightings database up to date also. At the moment sightings go up to 2001.

Our news section has been expanded with daily updates on cetacean news from Ireland, Europe and around the World. Also in the news section are details of this years IWC meeting, IWDG upcoming events and cetacean conferences.

Our whalewatching section contains information and tips on when and where to watch whales and dolphins in Irish waters.

We have a resources section with species profiles for all cetacean species found in Irish waters. There’s a section where you can download IWDG publications and reports and a links page.

A new feature to the site is our discussion group. If you have some cetacean related topic you want to discuss or questions you want answered, post a topic on our discussion board and see what reactions you get.

We also have our usual information on sightings and strandings, an online sightings report form and loads of other stuff.

So get exploring and let us know what you think by emailing us on iwdgweb@eircom.net
