A large humpback whale has been spotted swimming close to Hong Kong’s famous harbor in what’s believed to be the first sighting of the species in the territory’s waters. Planet Ark

A new IWDG/GMIT paper on abundance estimates and acoustic monitoring has recently been published by the Royal Irish Academy. The paper describes a survey of harbour porpoise which was carried out between July and October 2007, within the Blasket Islands candidate Special Area of Conservation (cSAC) on behalf of the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
