The IWDG will attend Cruinniú ba mBád in Kinvara, Co Galway over the weekend of 9-11th August. this is the 40th anniversary year of the iconic festival celebrating the traditional wooden sailing Hookers of Conamara.
IWDG will bring their research vessel Celtic Mist alongside the pier in the centre of Kinvara village. Celtic Mist has been busy since May surveying inshore waters, particularly the 100m contour line, with IWDG members carrying out the research. Visitors are welcome onto her to see how she works and about our research.
Dr Simon Berrow, CEO and founder member of the IWDG will be presenting in the festival tent a talk on Whales and Dolphins of Ireland on Sunday 11th August at 5:00pm. All welcome.
