One day Whale Watching Course in Mayo, Sat. 6th July

For those of you in the northwest who can’t easily make it down to West Cork for IWDG’s summer series of whale watching courses, this one-day free event should be of interest.  Pitched at a range of levels, from the enthusiast with a passing interest in marine wildife, to existing whale watchers who’d like to delve a little deeper into the subject, this event will show how as Citizen Scientists you can contribute to our knowledge and understanding of these highly mobile marine mammals, which are increasingly showing up in the northwest and along the Mayo/Sligo coast in particular.  Weather permitting, we’ll finish the day with a land-based whale watch from nearby Kilcummin/Benwee Head.  So if you can’t make the morning indoor session at 10:00am at Bessie’s Bar, we’ll perhaps see you up on the nearby headland at 14:15. Bring your own optics, dress appropriately for the weather on the day, but leave your pet’s at home.  No bookings required. Enquiries to Siún Ni Cheallaigh, e: siunn.c@gmail.com or Ph. 083 4709819.
